You will need a TM30.
Before you check into a hotel make sure that they file a TM30 and can give you a screenshot.
Which immigration office..
Assume that you have a Thai bank account in your name only.
Immigration office will probably be Pattaya but will have the option of Hua Hin as got a couple of friends there. I have already got a SCB bank account in my name only have 800k baht + in already, but no address is my problem.

What "Retirement Visa" are you referring to?
A Non O based on retirement or Non O-A
Non-Immigrant O Visa applying in Thailand after arriving on a 30 day or 60 day tourist visa. Hope that helps, thanks.

Hi
What is the requirement for proof of accommodation with regards to the document required at immigration?
Can I rent a room in a hotel for a month and get a letter from the hotel for that period of time?
Can I rely of a friend who has a house and get some sort of document from them?
Any suggestions of any other routes to go?
Every 90 days do I then have to report a new address if I've not found a permanent address?
I plan in staying in Thailand for 9 months and going home in Summer to my home country and whilst in Thailand may travel around. I don't want any other type of visa as I do plan to do this for many years.
Many thanks.

Don't forget to mention that 1 price for foreigners and a lower price for Thais in the small print!

Was flying out of Hua Hin Air Asia today destination Chiang Mia but didn't take the flight for the 3 of us, lost 14000 baht as the flight was not cancelled. Better to be safe than sorry being stuck up there. Very disappointed that the Samut Songran episode kicked off. The only thing that has <Cheesed> me off is that you cannot cancel the flight and at least get the insurance and tax back.

Thinking of moving away from being self insured and getting some cover with Pacific Cross, I'm 66 and in good health with no previous health issues apart from the odd bone fracture.
Can I get some feedback/ reviews on any of the following:
Paying out when you have to make a claim
PC paying direct to hospital without you having to claim back
Increases in yearly premiums
Increases in premiums after making a claim
Having to copay for certain ailments that they think you may get (read about back issues)
Hidden small print that can cause problems.
Many thanks

That is a saying only found on forums like this.
That's not true. About 16 years ago on a package holiday from the UK in a 4 star hotel in Phuket there was information in the room about hiring cars and they gave the exact same warning about having an accident in a hired car!!!
Exactly the same text - "If the farang wasn't here, it would never have happened, so it must be his fault" !
-
A mate of mine solved his problem by renting some massive speakers and when they started up he started up and drowned them out, they soon started to complain and the war was over!!
-
Think that's like asking 'When will falangs be able to own land'
-
Ok the first round of matches are over. Did anyone get any English commentary?
-
Ok, First I have to move my partner as a company shareholder and replace her with another family member. Then I want to put the land in her name (under usufruct/lease). Should I get married before the land changes name (50/50 rule) and does this have any implications before transferring the land as no money will be involved? Althou pegh I know the land office will hit me for tax. The building permit on the house was in the company name so got no idea where I stand on that. In Hua Hin so will see a lawyer after hopefully getting some feedback here. Then as the OP wants to do will close the company.

I have a year O visa and wanted an extension of stay based on taking care of my daughter, however I was refused because I do not have custody. In the intrim I may go for the 800K retirement visa over 50 etc.
Question:
Can I turn this visa into the custody visa after my retirement visa expires on the same O visa which will have expired by the time the retirement visa is up for renewal? If I have to go back to the UK for another O visa they tell me that I now need custody to get this visa again.
Cheers.

Do you have custody of your child to get this extension of stay and is it sole custody or shared custody.
I went to immigration in Hua Hin a few weeks ago and they wanted 400,000 baht in my account. However I did not have custody so was refused :-(

Sweet, I'll have a think which way to play it, thanks for your time
Tried reporting here in Hua Hin 2 days early and they sent me away

I have another question on this. If I am not legally recognised as the father of my son, why would the Thai Consulate in Melbourne, Australia grant me a 1 yr multiple entry visa on family grounds. To prove I was the father of a child in Thailand all I had to do was show a copy of the Thai birth certificate as evidence. These were Thai people and not aussies working there. They recognised me as the legal father.
Well back in November was not a problem but since February this year the rules have changed and you now need to show the custody document what ever it's called. Anyone know the name of the document?
-
Yes, some immigration offices want to have a docuemtn from teh courts that you are the legal fahter and for soem reason do not accept the amphur document, which is just as legal.
Sole parental rights is not a requirement, that you have (shared) parental rights is. Are you sure they wanted you to have sole parental rights?
I'm going to have to go back and get the name of the document in Thai and get the meaning translated, custody/adoption/shared rights who knows. Will post again when I know the name. My daughters surname is mine also, can't believe this carry on!
Also I don't think it is some immigration offices as the extension of stay based on support needs to goto head office in Bangkok and the office here called Bangkok who told them of this requirement and then refused me as I did not have the custody doc, so I think this must be country wide.
