Chinese Women Rescued From Pattaya House Captivity

Thai immigration police and more than 20 officers have rescued three Chinese women from a house in Bang Lamung, Chon Buri, after a relative received a WeChat plea for help alleging they had been held captive.

Four Chinese men were detained during the early-hours operation at the two-storey property in Takhian Tia at 12.30am on 23 September 2026. Initial checks found none had passports and police said they had entered Thailand illegally via natural border crossings.

WeChat message prompted the raid

Pol Col Naphatphong Khositsuriyamanee, superintendent of Chon Buri Immigration, said he was alerted at about 11pm on 22 September by a relative of one of the women.

The woman had reportedly sent a WeChat message saying that she was being detained and that no one should reply to messages sent to that handset because it could put her at risk, as her phone was being monitored.

She said there were several men and three women at the house, asked for police to be sent in large numbers, and shared the location. She described the building as a two-storey house, said those inside had no firearms, and urged recipients to tell a person named "Jixiang" not to message her.

Col Naphatphong coordinated with Bang Lamung police superintendent Pol Col Sarawut Nuchnart, Bang Lamung district chief Anusak Piriyom, Tourist Police, Immigration Division 3 investigators and Chon Buri immigration investigators.

Three women found inside house

Officers surrounded the property, with some climbing the front gate. One Chinese man was detained on the ground floor, where officers also found two Chinese women in an adjoining room.

Three more Chinese men were found upstairs and detained. In a separate bedroom, officers found a third Chinese woman wearing pyjamas. Police said she appeared battered and frightened, but was relieved when told officers had come to help.

Police identified the women as two Chinese nationals both named Liu, aged 36 and 32, and a 23-year-old Chinese national Xing.

The women told officers they had been contacted and hired for entertainment work, but were allegedly detained on arrival at the house, raped and used in ransom demands made to relatives.

A chain said to have been used to stop victims escaping was found at the property, along with several boxes of condoms, equipment linked to methamphetamine use, and a used "K port". Reporters also said material found on one suspect's phone included images allegedly showing the molestation of Chinese women and images connected to ketamine.

Investigators are examining the evidence and will continue checking the allegations of detention, rape and ransom demands, as well as seeking others connected to the case.
