Northern latitudes get the tropical latitude flu mutated in the winter from people who visited the tropics.

Cycle repeats every year.

Also big flu highway back and forth between US and Europe during their winter flu seasons.

Also relevant is if you live in the South of Thailand as most sexpats here do in Pattaya, then you have no cool season from November -January like the North does--a distinct cool season that can actually get cold at night, something that never ever happens in the 3 season South. That's my primary risk period when the air entering my nasal passages is cold 16C

We tend to get ours around now (Sept/October) as many hospitals have a special offer.

For EU, I have just had yesterday letter from Health service with my free flu vaccin available now, and a Shingles vaccination.

There is a high dosage flu vaccine recommended for people over 66. Can be hard to find but some places have it.

I'd like to use Golden Jubilee Medical Center in Salaya if I can, I hate to drive downtown if I can avoid it.

I know Jubilee has a vaccination center.
