The body of Thai travel creator Hlun Solo has been flown back to Thailand from Georgia, where he was found dead in a Tbilisi hotel room after losing contact with family and friends.
Baworntat Pengsuk, 27, who was known online as Hlun Solo, arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport at about 5.10am on 6 August 2026 on Turkish Airlines flight TK58. Relatives, family members and fans were waiting to receive his body.
Hlun Solo had more than 3.4 million followers across his social-media platforms and was known for backpacking and adventure-travel videos.
Thai forensic examination
His family then took his body to the Central Institute of Forensic Science on Som Sang Road in Bang Phun, Pathum Thani, for a further examination into the cause of death.
Associate Professor Dr Waraweer Waiwut, the institute's deputy director, said the Thai examination had followed an earlier autopsy in Georgia. He said the family had been briefed and had given permission for the findings to be disclosed.
No signs of assault, bruising, external injuries or broken bones were found, and the organs showed no abnormalities apart from matters involving the heart, he said. The preliminary conclusion was heart and circulatory-system failure.
However, Dr Waraweer said toxic substances and chemicals had not been ruled out. The Justice Ministry will seek further material from Georgia, including information from its examination and chemical testing, while heart tissue and genetic tests are also required.
Georgia had not entered a cause of death on the death certificate, according to the institute.
Family seeks answers over toxicology tests
Hlun Solo's brother, Somsak Butsri, known as Mos, said the family had specifically asked for a detailed forensic examination, including toxicology and heart tests. He said Georgian authorities had provided only a death certificate and information that organ samples and DNA had been retained, without explaining precisely what the samples would be tested for.
The family wants the Thai and Georgian findings compared, particularly over possible toxins. Somsak said no evidence of an assault or external wounds had been found in initial checks. None of his belongings were returned with the body apart from his passport.
The family plans to later take his body to Kalasin, his home province, for Buddhist funeral rites, with cremation arrangements to be discussed later. Somsak also thanked people across Thailand for their support, while saying the family was concerned about how their grandmother might react when she saw the body.
