Motorcyclist killed in Pattaya truck collision

A 31-year-old motorcyclist from Sa Kaeo was killed after he lost control on a sandy bend and crossed into the path of an 18-wheel articulated lorry in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chon Buri.

The crash happened at about 2:15pm on 1 October 2026 on Thung Klom-Tan Man 25 Road in Nong Prue. Police and Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya rescue workers attended the scene after reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and trailer truck.

Motorcycle crossed into lorry lane

Police found a black GPX Legend 200 motorcycle, registration from Chon Buri, lying damaged on the road at a bend.

The rider, identified only as Phongsit, 31, from Sa Kaeo province, was found dead nearby. He had suffered a fractured skull despite wearing a safety helmet.

Rescue workers covered the body with a white sheet and restricted access to the immediate area.

The other vehicle was an 18-wheel trailer truck, registration from Rayong. It remained at the scene, with visible impact damage and a dent around the rear-wheel arch of the trailer.

The 51-year-old driver, Thanwan, waited to give a statement to officers.

Dashcam captured the crash

A 29-year-old witness, Sirinet, told police she had been driving behind the lorry before the crash.

She said the motorcycle was travelling in the opposite direction when it entered the bend and the rider appeared to lose grip on sand on the road surface. The bike then slid out of the curve, crossed into the truck's lane and struck the rear wheel area before being run over, she said.

Sirinet's dashboard camera recorded the incident. Footage reportedly shows the motorcycle entering the bend, losing control and crossing from its lane into the truck's path.

Police Lieutenant Nattabodin Thong-in, an investigating officer at Nong Prue Police Station, inspected and photographed the scene. Officers are also reviewing the dashcam footage as part of the legal process.

The man's body was taken to Pattaya Pathmakhun Hospital for safekeeping while relatives are contacted to arrange religious rites.
