rooster59
Discarded spirit houses turned into artificial reefs Many abandoned spirit houses were dumped into the sea off Chumphon coast to serve as artificial coral reefs in order to provide sanctuary for marine lives. Chumphon governor Narong Polla-iad led a group of officials from the prevention and suppression of illegal fishing office to witness the dumping of used spirit houses into the sea on Thursday (Sept 14). The spirit houses which were discarded in public places were collected for use as artificial coral reefs as part of the effort to multiply fish stock in the sea. The spirit houses were loaded on huge raft and towed into the sea by a motor boat.
