Foundation slams ex-members for collecting donations

General Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, as president of a foundation under his own name, on Monday condemned a group of people who he said used the foundation’s name without authorisation to get donations.

Chavalit, a former premier, held a press briefing with representatives of the Luang Pu Muen Yantammo Foundation.

He said that a group of people involved in the misrepresentation used to be committee members of the General Chavalit Yongchaiyudh Foundation but were forced to resign after irregularities were found.

The group lured people to believe that they were still with the foundation and convinced them to donate to the foundation, he said.

Chavalit, former leader of the nowdefunct New Aspiration Party, condemned the group, saying they have damaged the foundation’s reputation.

He also urged anyone who knew about their activities to report them to the foundation at 086 785 3819 or 063 635 6158 so that he could take legal action against them.

Apparently they found it hard to give up donation collecting difficult !

Not that I care that much but what is the General Chavalit Yongchaiyudh Foundation exactly, just for curiousity's sake.

It's his foundation for coloring his hair (he is over 85 after all and needs a lot of color)
