I met a Thai woman about a year ago and have asked to marry me,

I have been to Thailand 4 times in the 80's and 6 times in the past

5 years I'm a long way from being an expert but I have some idea

of the Thai ways. This girl has never chased after me and I do feel

that our feelings are gunuine but reading posters on this site make

me feel worried. I'm a cynic but you lot make me feel like a misty

eyed dreamer. I can not move to Thailand for a few years and she

can't come to England .

She has a 7 year old son from a previous 10 year marriage

and this would suit me for now to see her 3 times a year. I can rent

a house and send her a liitle money each month and this would cost

me not much more than I pay now for hotels. I could wait a year to

get married but although nothing has been said I don't think this

would go down too well with her father. Her life would improve and

so would mine, she knows I have no money, she can't take me to

the cleaners if I have nothing .

Can anyone reassure me that not all Thai women just lie to you

to get your money, I wasn't born yesterday and I'm not so in love

that I can't see wood for the trees. Many marriges don't last but

that is not unique to Thailand.

Marry her and take her (and her son) to your country. But if you want to stay in Thailand to live a family life with her, think again...

And to answer your question, NO, not all Thai women lie. There are bad ones yes but aren't there bad people the world over
