Just wanted to give you guys a heads up that I got my single entry publicly called marriage visa from the Vientiane, Lao Thai consulate yesterday. Following the advice of everybody here I brought gobs and gobs of paperwork and in the end they took most of it but didn't even look at the original marriage certificate, or pictures, or written letter from my wife. And just an FYI the physically changed what the Visas look like for all types. They now have your name physically printed and full and a barcode at the bottom so that they can scan the Visa

What about financial proofs? Vientiane Embassy site contains these requirements:

 

สำหรับผู้ที่ประสงค์จะติดตามครอบครัวหรือคู่สมรส

เอกสารที่ต้องยื่นประกอบการขอวีซ่า ได้แก่

• สำเนาทะเบียนสมรส
• สำเนาบัตรประจำตัวประชาชนคู่สมรส (พร้อมรับรองสำเนา)
• สำเนาทะเบียนบ้าน
• สำเนาหลักฐานรับรองทางการเงิน (google translates it as financial proofs)
• เอกสารประกอบอื่น ๆ เช่น ใบสำคัญการเกิดหรือสูติบัตรของบุตร หรือบัตรประจำตัวประชาชนของบุคคลในครอบครัว

Any one know what kind of financial proofs i have to show?

No financials being requested for single-entry Non-O based on Marriage to a Thai in Vientiane or Savanakhet (shown above). 

 

Also no financials for the 1-year Multiple-Entry version (90-day stamp for each entry) from Savanakhet, HCMC, and some others.

That is a standard statement you will find for all visa applications. It is 20k baht that is not asked for at Vientiane to get any visa.
