webfact
Taxi driver returns Indian passenger’s Bt50,000 By The Nation A Bangkok taxi driver has returned more than Bt50,000 to an Indian passenger who’d left the cash in dollar and baht banknotes in his vehicle. Fazal Ahamed Kader Sulthan, 32, had dropped his wallet in the taxi driven by Samart Promchart, 28, on Sunday night. Samart found the wallet the following morning containing US$1,500 and Bt7,000 and took it to radio station FM91 Sor Wor Phor, whose listeners located Sulthyan. The station arranged for driver and passenger to meet at 11am on Thursday. Sulthan gave Samart Bt1,200 as a reward. The radio station gave the cab driver a “good man” T-shirt. Samart said he’d picked up Sulthan and his family at Mahanakhon intersection at 9pm Sunday and drove them to Soi Sathupradit 19. observer90210
Due respect to this honest Bangkok cabbie... ...one may assume that no tourist would have any taxi meter issues or refusals, with this honest and remarkable gentleman.... ........hopefully his taxi collegues nationwide would follow such honesty and perhaps people will switch from Uber or Grab.
