DNA test inconclusive as to whether Toyota Camry transported former PM Yingluck

DNA test inconclusive as to whether Toyota Camry transported former PM

BANGKOK, 9 October 2017 (NN) – Thailand's Office of Police Forensic Science has indicated the results of DNA tests of samples, collected from a car alleged to have been used to transport former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, are still inconclusive due to contamination and that a second test will take place to ensure accuracy.

Reporting on the results of DNA tests performed on samples collected from a Toyota Camry, alleged by Pol Col Chairit Anurit to have carried ex-premier Yingluck to the Thai-Cambodian border in Sa Kaeo so she could slip away before the conclusion of her government’s rice pledging scheme case, the Office of Police Forensic Science said latest data have been inconclusive due to the samples being heavily contaminated. The authorities explained that the vehicle had probably transported several people and that the delay in collecting samples allowed potential evidence time to deteriorate.

The sample will be tested a second time and a committee will be established to analyze the results. Attempts will be made to further purify the sample to prove whether or not it belongs to Yingluck.

Nonetheless, attending authorities assured that, if Deputy National Police Commander Pol Gen Sriwara Rangsiphramnakul calls for the results, a committee will be able to explain what DNA information is available.

Once again in a high profile case....."DNA test inconclusive" in a Thai criminal investigation...nothing new there.

A car that 'transported several people'?  way to go Sherlock

Given that it appears to be an unregistered car used by the police for "off the record work" it probably had footwells ankle deep in assorted mixed DNA!

Purifying the sample sounds like tampering with evidence to me.

Just beat the truth out of it if it won't cooperate, I say...

"a committee will be established to analyze the results of a second test" will it be comprised of officials who are on "inactive posts"............:cheesy:

Police officer accused of helping Yingluck flee the country escapes act of misbehaviour

By Thai PBS

A senior police officer who was earlier accused of helping Ms Yingluck Shinawatra to flee the country has escaped act of misbehaviour charge after DNA laboratory test produced no DNA samples of her in the car used in the escape.

The officer Pol Col Chairit Anukrit, deputy commamder of the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Fifth Division, faces misbehaviour charge for not performing his duty as law enforcement officer to arrest the fugitive ex-premier. He was among three police officers accused of helping to drive her to the border in a Toyota Camry car to escape.

Chief investigator of the Yingluck’s escape case Pol Gen Srivara Rangsibhramanakul, deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police, said on Monday ( October 9) that the officer, Pol Col Chairit, would escape the act of misbehaviour charge as forensic police have concluded their laboratory test on DNA samples collected from inside the car, and from inside the house of the ex-premier, and couldn’t confirm if there are DNA samples of her in the escape car.

no DNA match for the well connected

heard this before?

I imagine Yingluck rolling on floor laughing reading these news ...

I was fearing the worst for that poor Toyota. Shocked it wasn't Burmese.

Contamination occurs only when the seizing officers do not follow procedure or deliberately tamper with evidence. What is the point of a second test when there is contamination?  ?

Or releasing a further payment for (those who) successfully contaminating and tampering with evidence???

unbelievable

They probably used the car to run errands, including getting food or taking dogs to the vet.

The policeman who confessed should probably recant; "She looked like Yingluck or maybe somebody who looked like her?"

Image result for noddy car with big ears

i predict that the Camry won't see a single day in the big house.... unless the cops simply state that the Camry is guilty, which seems to be enough to satisfy a Thai court

oh wait... the Camry is Japanese, isn't it?.... which would be the wrong type of "ese"

Good diversion tactic by the Govt. Lets focus on DNA tests rather than the fact they know where the criminal is being  Yingluck is and do not raise Interpol from a blue alert to Red alert. What gets me is many comments here are buying it!

As far as Red Bull Dah.... we didn't get his DNA tested when freely leaving Thailand or heard nil since. Bet in Australia watching Bathurst 1000. Love Thailand. Make the rules up daily.

Hmmn, So I wonder what the cost of this test result was to the Pol Col?

Is he arranging his finances for the next inconclusive result!

Do they know what dna is and how to obtain it, not on KT or in this case either, back to the 70's then

Where is Dr. Death Pornthip, when we need her ?!!!???!!!

If the driver was from Myanmar it would be conclusive.

How did she get away? Which car did she use? This one? That one?

Will the mystery ever be solved?

In the meantime in a place far, far away, Yingleck sips her coffee and enjoys life.

Nobody has mentioned the obvious, alien abduction. Extra terrestrial not non Thai human to be exact. Probably from Uranus.

A more recent news report says the DNA lab. result was inconclusive because of contamination and the process would be conducted again.

Purifying the sample is code for making sure they receive a yingluck sample from somewhere

And we really care how she got there, she's gone move on!

It's laughable that people actually buy this story. :giggle:
