Thailand still free of highly addictive and potent designer drug known as "Ya Zombie"

Sanook reported despite widespread problems abroad Thailand was still free of the scourge of a designer drug referred to in the kingdom as "Ya Zombie".

The drug is Flakka or "Bath Salts" due to its resemblance to the substances used for bathing.

Sanook said it was ten times more powerful than Ya Ba or cocaine, longer lasting and much cheaper.

They said while illegal in many countries now it was yet to be classified as such in Thailand.

The drug is known to cause serious problems such as psychosis. After taking it the user can experience a very high rise in body temperature and heart rate that can cause death.

Sanook said that videos showing users in a "zombie" state were widely viewed online.

Known also as Alpha PVP (pyrrolidinopentiophenone) it is causing a big problem in many countries but a Thai drug spokesman said it was not a problem here - yet.

Sirinya Sitthichai said that agencies were keeping a close watch on the situation after receiving assistance from Australian authorities.

It would appear that many have achieved that state of euphoria without the need for the drug!

You mean it's not the Junta drug of choice?

With some luck the junta might legalise Ganja. They did have a few articles about it but I don't see it happening any day soon. Though it would be great if it was legal.

Actually if they EVER did that I would soften to them overnight. I have serious kneck and back pain and it would help tremendously but that would mean be open-minded and showing compassion and i don't see that happening robblok

There have been quite a few articles about it but no real follow up. I think it would be a good idea to legalize it but i don't see it happening. Lots of talk no action, the problem is it would compete with taxed drugs like alcohol and we can't have that can we. Losing taxes. Anyway I live in hope that one day they make it legal. I got sleeping problems and I know it helps for sleeping (just don't use it too much). Back in the Netherlands i had a vaporisor for the ganja.. that was a great way to use it. It only heats the stuff not burns it to release the THC so you don't get too much crap in your lungs. Plus it kills the smell nobody smells you use it.

Do they really need a drug to act like Zombies ??

Just let them get on with it. They know the risks.

I wish it was that easy.. i work hard.. do a lot of sports too. Unfortunately it does not help. Tried all kind of stuff already went to the hospital even got xanax at one point. But it made me wake up real groggy, not really something I would want to use too much. But the same goes for Ganja.. using it too much will also be bad. But to have a good night sleep once in a while is real valuable.

That is how i feel about drugs... let people use it (make sure they know the risks). I don't see why users should ever end up in jail. Unless of course if they are high or drunk and operate a vehicle or cause trouble when under the influence. But if they mind their own business and not bother anyone I don't see drug use as a problem.

You could try those energy drinks, they have a reverse affect on Me and Thai Monks, one in the Morning and i sleep all Day, just like them.,!..

they will legalize ganja right after they legalize gambling and turn pattaya in the new las vegas or macau.

I would say that now the statement that Thailand is free of this drug means there will now be a massive demand for it.

I find it odd that a substance that isn't in Thailand has a Thai nickname.

I doubt they can tell a difference between the average nitwit and someone zombied out. The lights are usually off regardless.

Looking at people driving on the roads.

I reckon the Zombie drugs are already here, on mass.

it must be in the water or something !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :shock1:

Please look this up

K street gang

Vince Hill

Washington

1997

13 murders, two young women shot in the head in front of their 2 year old kids

A whole neighborhood terrorizes by the gang for years.

all by a ganja gang

Drugs kill, only idiots use them and that is a worldwide fact.

Next your say drugs do not kill, just the people who use them.

Umm, murders committed by a drug dealing gang is more an argument for legalization. These acts are fueled by the high profit of selling something illegal not the use. Alcohol prohibition didn't work for the same reason, you can't stop it, you can only raise the cost, thus raising profits and motivating criminal enterprises operating outside legal channels.

BTW: I am not a user, only a pragmatist.

With this free advertising by the media it should soon gain in popularity.
