California becomes first US state to set rules for replacement tires

Featured Replies

Progressives just can't help themselves. At a time when Calif has historical homelessness, unemployment, natural disasters. Democratic cities along the west coast like Seattle, Oakland and LA are seeing the consequences of a progressive run city council with crime and homeless encampments.

Let's see how should we make Calif better. Oh I forgot big business is leaving Calif for greener pastures. So, what is the answer to making Calif better and more affordable. At a time when gas prices are the highest nationwide.

Let's tell car owners what kind of tires they should use and we'll create more government to enforce these rules. Because as we all know the gov. knows best for you.

Controlling your daily life, your purchases. What next, you have to go vegan because cows belch, and they think that will lower the CO2, that doesn need to be lowered.

We need less govt, not more govt in our lives. Part of why I left the USA, constantly 'Up Someone's Ass'

The biggest issue will be the cost of the state regulated tires. We always hear about soaring costs, high rent, families struggling financially. This is how out of touch the Progressives are. It's not fair to the Democratic party to blame the party, but these progressives within the party are determined to have the Gov. take control of every aspect of your life.

block the sale of older tires

Who buys used tires? Have you?

If Mexicans want to buy they can go to TJ. This is not a problem. Except inside your tiny mind.

Next! 😁

What? You should know and respect your reading comprehension abilities. This not about used tires. This about when you replace your tires the state will dictate what you replace with.

I used to live in the Bay Area back in the 1980, and I loved it. Yet the craziness of city councils abounded, such as the Berkeley city council putting road blocks in the middle of neighborhoods to slow traffic through these neighborhoods. What they accomplished was making it difficult to get emergency vehicles into neighborhoods when they were needed quickly. The Lefties love to make authoritarian rules that everyone but themselves need to abide by. Needless to say, between the 1980s and now the entire Bay Area has descended into a literal sh!t-show. It used to be a wonderful place.

Cost increase will be offset by fuel saving.

Your reading comprehension is poor. It is about not selling inferior quality tires in the state of California.

Go to Nevada or Arizona to buy low standard tires that will cost you more money. They're Stupid States with low standards. That's what you like?

You sound bad at math. 🤣

The CEC estimates the standards will save drivers in California nearly $1bn per year in gasoline and electricity costs

No need to drive on bald tires... use tires that are excluded.

Magas need to be told which tyres to use , it would be better if told by Donald

then it would not be a problem for them

There's a system, inspection & registration that avoids that. Same as USA, I drove around on MayPop brand, until the didnt hold air.

System is there, people can & will always get around it. Whether safely or not is the question.

I'm sure you drive the speed limit at all times 🙄

Except when anything is mandatory or now known to be cost saving, the price will increase.
