Two hundred and seventy boats have registered for next month’s Water Festival. The number, while unofficial, is higher than last year’s 256 vessels and there is time for more to sign up before the Friday deadline.

 

“We only have the unofficial figures for the names and number of boats, without having detailed documents yet,” said Bou Chum Serei, permanent vice-chairman of the National Committee for Organising National and International Festivals. Mr Chum Serei said provincial authorities had until Friday to send the numbers, names and official documents for all participating boats to the committee.

 

The Water Festival this year will take place between November 2 and 4. All the racers are to stay east of Chroy Changvar Bridge, in the Chroy Changvar development area, Mr Chum Serei said.
