I do think Tax got out of bed on the wrong side this morning!

If you quote part of a sentence then you can twist anything to suit your argument - the complete sentence read "I do not accept overcharging in general". The 'in general' part means I do not condone it 100% This is different from your extract...

I consider overcharging to be an overinflated selling price - not the 'add on' which the employee pockets. The 'transparency' of the ridiculous prices of everything in the EU does not make it acceptable. I simply prefer to be ripped off a few pennies, rather than an obscene amount (which you consider justifiable) in the EU.

Tourists are fair game in every country - why does it anger you so much that it happens here? I still prefer to live here to any western country. The old saying goes - a fool and his money are soon parted. If you are contiuously getting ripped off to the extent it is upsetting you so much then perhaps you are a soft target...

And another point - does the fact that it is a 'standard wage' in Thailand mean that it is not miserly by any standard? Perhaps you justify foreign companies exploiting '3rd world' countries purely because their 'standard wages' allow for massive labour cost reductions. That is not made transparent when the goods are sold for massive profits elsewhere...

Anyway, I did not join the forum to enter into a slanging match. The amounts are negligible and I can live with it.
