Children here fear corporal punishment, seeing it at home or in their friends homes, so fighting this isn't in their thinking. Teachers are the parents here during the school day, most parents allowing the teachers to do what they need to with no complaints. Taught to be sheep, they'll remain sheep until they leave the house and the pent up anger shows itself in crimes. Of course the opposite of the spectrum isn't good either, parents allowing their children to do whatever they want without consequences, which happens in the west quite often. Both types of parenting are wrong. -

Thai wife is a western trained nurse - would international hospitals hire her?
But it is near impossible for foreign trained doctors, non-Thai, to get licence to work in Thailand. I might expect nursing is also a reserved occupation. Most certainly it would need a licence. I expect it would be a far better job in private hospitals than public too. -

Well not quite. Having a mortgage means you will own it if/when the mortgage is paid off. Until that the lending institution owns it.- 1

New Immigration Form STM.10 Affidavit of Family Relationship to Thai National
When I had arthritis 2 years ago I could hardly hold a pen to sign all the paperwork. The immigration officer recommended getting a stamp made in my name for the printed part which cut the writing in half and speeded things up a lot. Now wife stamps my name and passes each paper for me to add my squiggle. Stamp cost 200 to have made locally.
