Shop with good selection of sunglasses

I'm NOT looking for designer sunglasses, just ones under the 1000 Baht price tag. (Let's face it they are going to break or get lost in 6 months anyway). I've browsed those small stands at 7/11 stands etc but most of the ones I like are too small for my big head.

Any good shops in Pantip?

THere's a shop in the Think Park corner which sells very stylish sunglasses......not sure they're not more than 1000 baht maybe.

Bearing in mind the link below I always get my glasses in the little student market down a small soi opposite CMU front gate. They sell regular prescription glasses made in 15 minutes well under 1000 it may be a place for sunglasses too there are about five outlets there

Glasses are generally grossly underpriced and here's why

PP = Pantip Plaza?

Yes

Need to bargain though, if you go to PP

I was looking at some sunglasses, 1200 Baht

Said Id think about it .

As I was walking away , she said 1000 Baht, if I buy them now

Went back a few days later and they were 800 Baht

I just cannot be bothered bartering , unless I get told the real price straight away, I just walk away

I have broken so many sunglasses over the years that I no longer buy expensive ones.  I have one pair of sillouhettes left and rarely use them,  Most of the time I now wear a pair of 3M safety glasses!  They are a black wrap-around style and are nearly indestructable.  I saw some in Baan and Beyond yesterday for 175 baht but on Lazada you can get 3 pairs for 125 baht each with free delivery and C,O,D.

The missus is very hard on her sunglasses and they always end up scratched to buggery.  These 3M glasses stand up to her abuse quite well. 100% UV protection too.

3M also do the same style in a clear lens, which are great for when riding the bike at night.

I bought these glasses as well. I find that they aren't effective at high speeds as I get teary eyes which is dangerous. I agree about them being very sold and indestructible...

I tend to wear a full face helmet or at least one with a visor if I intend do mach one (Well maybe not quite that fast...poor Honda Wave does try!).... but do concur with your observation if wearing an open face helmet less visor.

And the additional beauty of the 3M glasses is that they are easy to put on even with a full face helmet.  The 'arms' that go over your ears are so thin it makes it easy.  Ive had others that were a real pain on your temples.

But maybe the OP wants some that look cool without being  functional?

A good vendor who sells high-quality sunglasses is located in the Anasarn Market in the evenings. They are real designer brands that say "Made in Italy", etc. but they are actually made in Korea for the Italian or French companies. They are made of high-quality materials like titanium, etc. and lenses are polarized. They sell for about 2K Baht but you can bargain with the seller some. He has been around a long time, has a good reputation, and goes to Bangkok often to re-stock. He does not sell cheap, Chinese junk. The pair I bought from him most recently I have been using every day now for about 2 years and they are still in perfect condition. I just stopped by there about 6 weeks ago to have him adjust them for me.
