Pdavies99
Hi, An old friend of mine lives on his UK state pension of £142 weekly and some savings. He knows he needs 800k for qualifying retirement visa but needs to utilise his pension income by way of a letter from Bangkok consulate. If he does this how much cash would he need as a balance with income? And is it easy to get the letter etc from consulate . Thanks for any help. MaeJoMTB
If he's married to a Thai, he can just buy a marriage VISA in Suvannakhet, Laos. No show of money or income required.
banglay
142 x 52 = 7384 = 321712.76 baht (at todays rate) 800000 - 321712.76 = 478288 baht is need in his bank account 90 days before his visa is due

After that it is 3 months.
DILLIGAD
If it’s £142 after tax, they (BKK UK Embassy) allow you to use the sum before tax is deducted, BUT unlike some other countries, proof is required to back-up this figure. Phuket Man
He can apply to British Embassy by E Mail or Post. They will require proof. He should have a document from the pension people. I think he can supply 3 months of bank statements as proof.

Popular Post robertson468
He should also have his letter from HM Government that will state how much he is paid every four weeks. He should produce this to the Embassy and to do so needs to fill in the appropriate form which is on the Embassy Website. Instead of iliciting information from TV Members would recommend that you log on to the British Embassy Bangkok Website. All the answers are there

Is this true? I was under the impression that seasoning was not required for the combination method. Are requirements different in different offices? A one-year multiple entry Non O costs 5,000 baht at the Savannakhet consulate. Requires border hops every 90 days (or 150 days if each entry is extended by 60 days for 1,900 baht as is possible).

Only needs to do 3 entries and get 17 months if he uses it to it's potential. 90 days + 60 day extension = 150 days. Border hop, 90 days + 60 day extension = 300 days. Border hop, 64 days = 364 days Border hop 90 days + 60 day extension = 514 days.

I did the gambling van from Korat to Cambodia once, free van trip if I visited the casino. Edited November 8, 2017 by MaeJoMTB
