The Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) has confiscated Bt2.3 billion worth of land plots belonging to TC Property Co Ltd over its link to a rice-deal corruption conviction.

The confiscation will be in effect from October 10 until January 7 next year unless the firm can prove that the assets were not ill-gotten gains.

The land plots are located in several provinces including Bangkok, Samut Prakan, and Chiang Mai.

AMLO has said the temporary confiscation of these land plots was necessary as a probe suggests they belonged to Apichart Chansakunporn, who is widely known as Sia Pieng and was found guilty of playing a role in corruption-plagued rice deals.

Prior to this, AMLO had already confiscated Bt1.865 billion of assets belonging to Apichart and his accomplices.

The Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) has frozen an addition of 2.3 billion baht worth of assets belong to Apichart Chansakulporn, aka Sia Piang, and associates who implicated in the fake G-to-G rice deals between a fake Chinese importing company and the Foreign Trade Department.

AMLO website today (Nov 8) published the AMLO order no.125/2560 dated Oct 25 regarding the transactions committee’s resolution to freeze 25 items of assets held by TC Property Company belonging to Mr Apichart and associates implicated in the fake rice deals.

The assets are mostly land plots in Pathum Thani, Chon Buri, Samut Prakan, Chiang Mai and Bangkok.

Well.....consolidated revenue.....where else? ::partytime2:

Good to see that corruption is being punished in a way it hurts by taking away the proceeds of said corruption. Well done now start doing it for all corruption.
