Non O immigration visa

Featured Replies

Hi I have a Non O immigration visa multiple entry for a year based on married to my Thai wife I’m off to Thailand for my first time with this visa. I used to just come on the 30 day tourist visa . I will never stay longer than 40 days due to work commitments . What I would like to know is what is the process of entering and leaving and re entry ? Do I need to report every 90 and do I need to do anything on re entry ? Sorry if this has been answered times over but I’ve spent hours on the internet looking but I’m going round in circles ???

Thanks

As you're asking about travel to, or staying in, Thailand, I'll move your post to the correct forum

With a multiple entry Non O, it is all extremely easy. You simply put the visa number on the (TM6) arrival card each time you come to Thailand, and receive a 90-day permission to stay. There is no need for 90-day reporting or any other paperwork. (Technically, your wife is probably supposed to submit a TM30 'notification of alien staying in the house', but that was also an official requirement when you visited visa exempt. Since you will never have any contact with the location immigration office, I suggest you continue to ignore that requirement.)

Keep in mind that if your travel timing fits if you arrive close to the 'use by/enter by date on your visa you will still get a 90 day entry.

eg enter by 4th november 2018 printed on your visa and you arrive on 2nd November 2018 you will still get 90 days entry stamped on your passport allowing you to stay until February.

As previously posted make sure you write the Visa Number on the arrival card and it's actually worth checking the date stamped in your passport before you leave the Immigration desk, it has been known if it's very busy at Imm' desks for the IO to miss the visa number on the arrival card and stamp 30 days instead of 90. If that happens then smile and say 'sorry should be 90 days' and show the IO your visa and get it corrected at the desk. Happened to me recently and I've been on Multi O visas for the past 9 or 10 years.

Yes, it is.

Use by date/valid until 7 Nov 2018. So if your timing with work happens to have you arriving on/around 6 Nov 2018 you wll get 90 days from then.

I also think if you have to leave and return before the Feb 2019 date you can buy a single re-entry permit for 1000 baht at the airport on the way out and on return you will be stamped in again until the original Feb date, write the re-entry permit number on the arrival card where you wrote the visa number before, note not another 90 days.

I'm sure someone will verify this on here.

Another add on is near the end of your last 90 day entry you can go with your wife, her ID, married cert', proof of address ( her house book) to your local Imm' office and extend for another 60 days getting 17 months, minus a few days, from your original 1 year visa.

Some offices may want that your wife/landlord has reported where you are staying, some may not.

Missed out the 1900 baht for the 60 days. ?
