Internet Banking

Featured Replies

Hello everybody.

I need some advice.

Me and my Thai wife live in Belgium and we would like to open a bank account in a Thai bank and we would like to be able to manage this account from Belgium using internet: making transfer, .....

Is there aThai bank offering internet banking solution? If yes, is it available for non-resident?

Thank you to share your experience with us.

Quite a few banks offer the service.

For normal (not in billions) transactions, Siam Commercial Bank works quite well. A bit more user-friendly than Bangkok Bank and Bank of Ayudhya, but they are all ok.

Easy to manage in or out of Thailand.

I internet bank in the uk and love it.BUT how safe is it with a Thai bank as I understand that there are non of the recourses there that are available hrere regarding fraud?

Kasikornbank, one feature they have is that you can send money to anyone with a Thai bank account, regardless which bank.

I have an account with the Krung Thai Bank.

Setting up internet transactions is as easy as visiting the bank and informing them of which bank accounts into which you would want to transfer money.

With Kasikorn you don't need to do that. Just add the bank/account and confirm with SMS via your mobile.

Can you make payments to agencies outside Thailand ie from Siam Commercial to Uk I have a saving account with SCB

I have had nothing but troubles with Bangkok Bang Ibanking service. I am going to change as soon as I can.

I don't recommend them at all.

All major Banks have online banking. Transactions can be made to other Thai banks

within the 'system'. although some require you to pre-register who you are permitted to

send funds to (see George's post).

I doubt if any allow overseas transactions online.

Kasikorn provide a special secure card ... e-Web Card ...for making internet purchases.

Kasikorn also have a service ... K-Malert...which will alert you via SMS whenever you debit/credit

card is used for transactions other than at ATM's. (only in Thailand)

Naka.

I use the i-banking at Bangkok Bank. Can't say it's great but it's worked OK for me. One thing you might think about is if you want to bank between your bank outside of Thailand and the local bank. Bangkok Bank has a US Branch that I can to transfers do from my US accounts just like I do with any US bank. No international funds transfer charges. I can send from Bangkok Bank to the US online as well but that direction does cost more. Haven't looked into if I could get online banking at the US Bangkok Bank and avoid that but there are issues with talking money out of Thailand. I have a blanket agreement with Bangkok Bank for that.

Thought this was the case thanks for input

Thanks a lot to all of you for your answers

I imagine that it is not possible to open an account being abroad????

You need to be living here beause passport production is neccessary to open an account, the only risky way round it is to get someone open an account for you but in there name it would!!!
