Two Columbian tourists were yesterday charged with drug trafficking by Phnom Penh Municipal Court for smuggling nearly one kilo of cocaine into the country. Keo Sarith, a police officer with the anti-drug department of the Interior Ministry, identified the suspects as Quevedo Rodrigo, 50, and Giraldo Carlos, 44.

The pair had smuggled the cocaine inside the motors of vehicles being sent from Cambodia to Brazil. They face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of drug trafficking, due to the amount seized.
