Pattaya constabulary play cops and robbers to reassure tourists!

Pattaya cops took to the streets of the resort yesterday to reassure locals and tourists they are capable of taking down armed criminals.

Local Chief Apichai Krobpetch led his finest on a training exercise that started in Jomtien and ended with the successful arrest of two men in motorcycle helmets pretending to be ruthless robbers.

The stunt came after provincial police chiefs seemed to be less than happy that three armed men raided a Tesco Lotus gold shop in downtown Chonburi last week and got clean away with 10.6 million baht's worth of jewelry.

The exercise started on Jomtien Sai 2 when a security van supposedly delivering millions of baht to an ATM at a convenience store was held up.

The cops swung into decisive action utilizing the latest in surveillance technology - a device called a drone.

The drone - which incidentally has rarely if ever been mentioned in any Pattaya police operations in the past - was able to track the miscreants to a deserted building on Soi Batman - or was it Soi Badman - in South Pattaya.

Here the denouement reached its exciting conclusion.

Several officers using what might be described as the snake technique drew their weapons and in no time the two robbers were in custody and the cameras were out for pictures all round.

Tnews said the whole operation showed that the Pattaya cops were taking nothing for granted in their brave commitment to solve crime and make the the resort a safe and happy place for residents and tourists alike.

So be happy about that.

That's novel, usually they are just the robbers   :whistling:

Just when you think you have seen it all. Amazing Thailand pops up and proves you wrong.

Could be the last brain fart of the famous tourism and sports crybaby: The hub of cops and robbers games ...

Would be more reassuring if they just did their job.

They should wear ID cards when playing these games, so could tell which side is cops and which robbers

The cops swung into decisive action utilizing the latest in surveillance technology - a device called a drone . hahahahahahahahahah

Stay with the chainsnatchers on bikes, otherwise someone may get hurt.

How outrageously confusing.

Every once in a while we hear of fantastic work by one or more Thai cops............  But since most things are rated by a 'majority' the Thai cops rate like this.......... Good at 'playing games'....... But VERY lacking at the real stuff.......... They seem to 'excel' at traffic stops to collect 'cash'......

As I say...... we all are looking at the 'majorities' to build an opinion...............

The whole thing is just sad.

The police station in Pattaya is full of drones.  They only swing into action on payment of 10,000 baht.
