Well my nice Mi Max 2 screen has cracked (even had a case and protector on) does anybody know anywhere who repairs Xiaomi phones?
All this crap about Gorilla glass, 1 big drop and its all gone [emoji20]
Gorilla glass is scratch resistant, not drop resistant (unfortunately).

Sent from my R2D2 droid using my C3P0 manservant

When that happened to my tgf's phone i bought a new glass screen from China (Aliexpress) and someone in Tukcom fitted it for me.

Was this a Xiaomi phone, or a different brand? I have though of doing this but not to sure if they are skilled to do that brand phones.

It was a Xiaomi Mi Max. But i think we were lucky to find someone who would (could) do it.

Was it Tucom in Pattaya, if so can you remember roughly where the stall was.

Sounds like you were in luck, as it seems complicated in the Youtube videos. What they charge you ?

Tukcom Pattaya yes. On the 1st floor (2nd for Americans) in the middle of the floor about 2/3rds towards the back. 800 baht, plus 1100 for a new screen.

Nice, thanks for advice. The new screen looks and works the same as the old one?

I didn't end up changing the screen as before i had a changed i dropped it down the toilet and that really messed it up!

But you are right the screens in Xiaomi and even mid range Chinese phones in general are not great. Pot luck if you drop it on the floor.
