Last month butts - this month feet - now Thai woman "dressed as a boy"  shows disrespect at temple

hfhgjh.JPG

Last month two gay American men got into hot water with their butt displays at Bangkok's sacred temple of Wat Arun.

This month the boot is on the other foot - literally.

A group of guides are furious about a colleague of theirs pictured with her foot planted on a stupa at the famous Temple of the Dawn.

This guide had been described as "dressing like a boy" in the Thai media.

Phon, 39, went online to complain about the female guide's antics which did not just involve showing disrespect at the temple.

She also is alleged to have stolen from a shop. Then after negotiating a release from the cells with the police, she posted pictures of herself laughing as the handcuffs came off.

Then she posted inflammatory remarks about the shop to rub it in.

Breaking point came near when she posted pictures of herself snogging lots of Chinese tourists she was meant to be showing round a religious site in Chonburi.

Now the friends want action and it looks as though they will get it from the tourism authorities who are embarrassed by the affair.

Regarding the feet at Wat Arun in particular comment online was rife but it was not all negative. Some thought it was really not too bad and she might not have even intended to be disrespectful.

Many thought that the "butt display" of the Americans was clearly a lot worse. That pair of cheek bearers were fined 5,000 baht each before being sent on their way back to the States.

Of course the American behaviour was worse.

Dresses like a boy?   6 months in the slammer

Guns drugs drunks, sex perverts, thieves and conmen all found at many temples, no problem but put a foot in the wrong place and hey ho off with their heads. Brain dead comes to mind.

They should just shut the doors / gates of these Temples and let no one in, including the drunk Monks.

And she's got a (some) good looking girls she's having sex with and never shows her genitals to the girls.

    People also call them "Tomboys".

Why wasting so much time? The wannabe boy is just plain stupid and will soon be seeking a job.

Hey, they thought they were at the Moon Temple, an honest mistake.

You have guys wearing women's clothing all over Thailand,  what's wrong with a woman wearing jeans, shirt and sneakers and acting like a bloke?

Serious? Those arrogant A$$HOLES from the US should of been fined 5000USD and kicked out for 10yrs imo

The tour guides would have gotten away with it if it hadn't been for the "pesky foreigners" kicking the publicity off.

(With apologies to Scooby Doo and the janitor: "I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids")

While I agree they were morons I think that theft is worse.

As to the touching of a religious artifact with your foot, that is also the act of a disrespectful, arrogant moron.

Arrogance is all around us.

What's wrong, you say? Well, she doesn't do a job well. What job? oh, I guess it's a B.

As is ignorance.

Shocking terrible jail, jail, jail, cannot have anybody showing disrespect.

What about the thieving/ corrupt/paedo monks?

What they get upto is a damn sight worse than what that woman did

I partly agree with you, shut the doors and gates of the temples at night and allow no one out in the morning

Do you know her personally to able to comment on her friends so accurately?

sad that this is what passes as news these days.

why should anyone really care or anyone's opinion really matter here?

punish her for her actions and move on

Not forgetting  the wealth of information imparted, "they call them " Tomboys"". Wow- what an insight.

Yes, some of the monks which we see on the news every week are partly responsible for people showing disrespect.

Definitely, they should clean their own backyard before preaching.

I wish they could get their knickers in a twist about stuff that really matters and not some stupid fairytales and some "holy" bricks and clay!

The world would be a better place, without religion and all it stands for!

The friends, her colleagues... are all sharpening their knives
