Ladyboy ‘changed lifestyle’ to avoid arrest over motorbike theft

Police have arrested a 20-year-old “ladyboy”, who allegedly had cosmetic surgery in an attempt to elude capture, over the theft of a motorcyle in Bang Khen district in February 2015.

 

Sitthichai Rernyindee was wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Central Juvenile and Family Court in July 2016, and was finally brought to the court on Tuesday morning. 

 

Sitthichai caught the attention of police offers on a crime prevention patrol as he “walked suspiciously” to try to avoid them around the junction of Sukhumvot Sois 13 and 15 on Monday night. The suspect was taken to a police station for question after an initial search failed to find any illegal items.

 

After a search of the criminal database that discovered the warrant, Sitthichai was arrested and taken to Bang Khen Police Station.

 

Sitthichai reportedly confessed to joining others in stealing a motorcycle in front of a condominium in Bang Khen on the night of February 14, 2015 before fleeing.

 

The suspect later underwent cosmetic surgery and changed lifestyles to avoid being recognised by police, and then went to work in the Sukhumvit area.

2. after an initial search failed to find any illegal items -- is this similar to "driving while black" in the US, as you're always guilty of *something*

Did he undergo plastic surgery and become a ladyboy after the theft ?

For an English language newspaper they need to brush up on their English language skills. Perhaps employ an English speaking proof reader?  Or would that be too much to ask for? 

And Thai TV News showed the perp being put into the back seat (the shelf) of a two-door Police pickup truck in violation of one of their own rules.......

so the prize was a multiway split in a stolen scooter (what’s that in baht... anyone?)..... but the cost was undergoing plastic surgery. (What’s that in baht.... anyone ?)
