Siam C.C. Road will be completed in “early 2018” says Nongprue mayor

PATTAYA:-- After months of promises that the long-delayed reconstruction of Soi Siam Country Club would be completed by the end of this month, Nongprue Mayor Mai Chaiyanit is now saying it will be done in “early 2018”.

The mayor announced Dec. 12 that heavily criticized project is now 90 percent complete, with resurfacing being done from the railway parallel road to the Rai Wanasin Market.

The road from the market to SP Village 5 already is complete.

However, 900 meters of 2.5-meter-diameter drainage tunnels are still being sunk between the market and railway road. Lighting and lane painting also remain to be done.

For nearly half a year Mai had pledged that the project would finish before the end of 2017. He now has refused to set a date, saying only it will wrap in the first quarter of the new year.

Maybe next year, or the year after. Its such a joke, but I dont think the shop owners are laughing much.

And no-one accountable for this shambles?

If the attached photo is recent......then it looks like a further 8-12 months work there.

More idiots in charge!

4 years to fix a road...

maybe over 8 months fix again

They're doing something similar to my access road.  We have been promised it will take SEVEN months!

I am not one of the usual Pattaya bashers but unless they have done some serious investigative engineering around the market to determine the location and characteristics of the subterranean aquifer, as long as they keep building around this area, there will always be "issues" with non-seasonal flooding, broken water mains, ground subsidence and collapsing road surfaces.

Two things guaranteed to not happen in 2018: an election, and completion of the Siam CC Road.
