With injuries in his left shoulder, rocker Artiwara Kongmalai, better known as Toon Bodyslam, ended the 53th day of his charity run on Saturday (Dec 23) at Pukaeng School in Chiang Rai’s Phan district as donations hit 984.9 million baht.

According to the initial plan, Toon is to complete his 2,191-kilometre run from Yala’s Betong district to Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai on Dec 25 to raise funds for 11 state hospitals.

Toon ran 10.6km from the Mae Chai district office to Pukaeng School on Dec 23 to complete the fourth set.  Because of the injuries in the left shoulder, the team decided that Toon should rest and skip his run in the fifth set.

As ive said, this guy, if he so chooses, could be a huge political force in years to come..And I would guess his security detail would not only stay as is now but increase in the future if he went that way.

He deserves to rest. The work he has done is fantastic, and nothing that he should hurt over. If he finish 25 or 30 can´t make much differens.

Toon Bodyslam for PM! During the next elections sometime after 2027!

A great example of a selfless guy doing good for his fellow citizens. A tremendous sacrifice of his health and wellbeing to help others. Congratulations Khun Toon!

Only1 word from me....respect.....

Thailand needed a public figure like this, couldnt have come at a better time. At the beginning of his run, a few government idiots dared to criticize him and looked very stupid very quickly.
And interestingly, a certain event which was supposed to take place last month was postponed until further notice due to all the media attention this is getting.

Congrats Toon !! And shame on the little one.

This man is doing what the coup couldn't do; bring Thailand together as one. As said above, Toon is a natural for heading straight into politics with his own party. And he has done a wonderful job for the Hospitals that will share in the opportunity created. Chiang Rai people are very gracious and heartwarming people. They will look after Toon.

Respect from me to colinneil , as I posted the other day , how many rockers in the past in the UK would be able to do this. 100yds maybe with a fag in one hand and a bottle of scotch in t'other.

seriously...this guy needs to contemplate a real future in politics...he seems to be genuine and sincere in his desire to help thai people...the problems of this country are obvious and could be solved pretty easily by one individual who was accepted by the populace...this country needs an icon to lead it to an amazing future...i really hope he uses his public embrace to make a difference...this country aches for a leader who is simply NOT corrupt.

I actually hope he doesnt end up in politics, or PM. Its a bit like the England managers job.
