Many years after making the Guiness Book of Records a Thai teen still hopes for a permanent cure for her condition of excessive facial hair.

Supatra Sasuphan - better known as Nong Nat - made the record book when she was 11 for having the longest body hair in the world.

She suffers from a chromosome deficiency condition that affects only 50 people in the world.

Now 17 she put pictures of herself without the hair on her Facebook page for New Year.

She said she had got used to being called "Monkey Face" over the last ten years. She still hopes to become a doctor and help others.

Dad Samrerng, 44, said that his daughter had been born with various problems including enlarged nostrils that had to be treated surgically to enable her to breathe properly.

She was covered in the hair on her face, arms, legs, back and ears. Some people get a cure with laser treatment but it doesn't work for everyone.

Another rubbish story that doesn't say how she lost the hair. Relevant i would have thought

How unfeeling and predictable that people call her ' Monkey Face'.  'She still hopes to become a doctor'  This sentence implies [because of the word 'still'] that she is very unlikely to become a doctor because of her deformity, and the discrimination of other people,  the writer just can't say it straight.

Or maybe it's just not that easy to become a doctor and some people aren't up to the task.....

I've seen plenty of ugly Dr's BTW
