I'm currently halfway through my 30 day visa exempt stay, can I go to immigration to apply for an extension now?  Or do I need to wait for the final week of my 30 day stay to extend?  If I do now, will the 30 days of extension be tacked on to the end date (Jan 23) of my original stamp?

Yes, you can go to immigration now.

The 30 days will be added to your permitted to stay date. So, it doesn't matter when you do it, the result is the same.

At Jomtien, if they are busy (they will be, it's January), you may well be told to wait until you have less than 7 days left. This is because they want to ease the pressure of applications.

If it were me, I would select the most convenient Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for me. Bearing in mind you only have 12 days left, the chances of being turned away and told to come back next week are low.

I got a 30 day extension yesterday , went very smoothly , in just after 10 , out before 12 ,even though it was a lousy weather day still plenty of people there

I want to go get a 30 day extension at Chaengwattana with about 12 days left on a 60 day single entry TV.  Is that possible?  Does anyone know the exact rules?  Thanks
