Hi All,

I just moved to Thailand with my spouse 6 weeks ago. We are here as part of a year-long trip around Asia

It is un-timely that my spouse is now pregnant and we have been going to a few clinics and one hospital for an abortion. It seems like no one is doing this. There are also not many resources I can find online. We are still going to be here for a few more weeks before we move on to the next leg of our trip so trying to find some help here instead of other places.

Does anyone happen to know where can I find a doctor to consult and properly administer this in Bangkok?

And the first (of probably many) troll post has been removed. Rest assured we are watching and holidays await.

Let's stick to the subject at hand and not the moralities.

It is all explained there. Assuming she is still quite early (i.e. under say 10 weeks) the PDA clinic listed there is where to go. Be warned it is strictly a no frills operation, but safe. By no frills I mean, among other things, nothing much in the way of a rest area, she will be expected to get up and walk right out, so plan on a taxi and recuperation back at your hotel. Also do nto expect much in the way of English speaking.

Alternatively if your travels will include Cambodia - where abortion is legal on demand in the first trimester - Marie Stopes International operates a network of clinics with good standard of care. they are happy to serve westerners but request that you call their main office to set it up so that they can insure an English speaker is available at the clinic.

At MSI, if early enough (9 weeks or less) there is an option of medical abortion vs surgical.

Meanwhile consider what type of birth control she will use afterwards as many methods can and should begin immediately. Injectable contraceptive (depo provera) can be given right in the clinic before leaving. IUD can often be inserted immediately post abortion. etc - yo udon't want a repeat event.
