Ratchanok Intanon extended her winning streaks to 7-0 this year as she ousted Fitriani Fitriani of Indonesia 21-17 21-16 in the second round of the Daihatsu Indonesia Masters in Jakarta on Thursday.
 

The world No 5 who won the Malaysian Masters on Sunday will take on the world No 7 Nazomi Okuhara of Japan in the quarter-finals on Friday. The Thai trails 3-4 in their lifetime statistics.

 

However all other compatriots did not survive round two of the singles events. Thai No 2 Nitchaon Jindapol lost to world No 6 Sung Ji Hyun of South Korea 16-21 11-21.

 

On the men’s side, Kantaphon Wangcharoen, a day after his upset win over Lin Dan, was sent packing by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia 11-21 14-21 while Suppanyu Avihingsanon lost to third seeded Chen Long of China 13-21 8-21.

 

On the women’s doubles, sixth seeded Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai beat Maiken Fruergaard and Saea Thygesen of Denmark 21-19 21-16.
