Expats come out to Thailand thinking they can buy a bar and make a fortune. Some obviously do make good money but I don't think there are many that do.

The locals who rent the places out, getting rent and key money on a regular basis, and the Thai renovation teams!

I am making I believe to be a reasonable response. If you want accurate data then I doubt if either of us could provide that. Common sense would indicate that many people do believe they will get rich by opening a bar in Pattaya.

A friend of mine had a bar on second road north Pattaya. He bought 4 new town houses and built 2 large pool villas from the proceeds.

His snookers (10 baht per game) paid for more than all his expenses and overheads every month.

A couple of farangs running bars (one older guy, one really young guy) in Pattaya have Youtube channels that help them get well-known.

I think the old FLB did pretty well. A little bit different than other bars. Many Americans hung out there. Before Tequila Rose and Jose' Cuervo Gold were available we would bring for the ladies, and ourselves. The ladies were good looking, most were pleasant to be around and many ended up married to customers. The owner sold out and opened a restaurant that appeared to be successful years ago. Along with other businesses that were over the water, FLB was torn down some years ago. I haven't been back to Pattaya in ages except for offshore fishing a couple of times. No interest in what I see there now.

Cafe Kronborg, initially on Second way back in the early 1980's. Now located on Soi Diana where some idiot on TripAdvisor describes it as "a rough biker's bar." I guess there were some Jesters in the bar at the time.

Kåres Party Bar & Restaurant on Buakhao has been an epicenter of good fun and good food for over 20 years already.

The boys who are doing that have a stash of cash that is not endless. The reason they throw all their money into a bar has nothing to do with business. They want a bevy of beauties at their beck and call. All he can see are the "interviews". They aren't businessmen and never have been. Their money could have been better spent in short-time.

I don't know if it has relocated over time, but currently it's in the location formerly occupied by Pook's (Swan House) and that was less than 10 years ago.

Think I remember her from his beachfront restaurant near soi 1, about 20 years or so ago.

Being a liberal you’ll believe anything anyone tells you.

And Trump is much more successful than you or the bloke that whispered in your ears all the real estate he bought by owning a bar.

Trump has Trump Towers and Mar a Lago. And billions.

Why are liberals do gullible?

Seems you have issues with reading comprehension, as I clearly stated he is a friend, and has been for many years before he even started the bar. So he didn't whisper anything in my ear, and I have been inside the properties many times.

I also have witnessed with my own eyes when he was emptying the coin drawers of the pools.

Yes sure, someone with 6 bankruptcies, billions of unpaid bills to small contractors, thousands of lawsuits for fraud, and even a few convictions for the fraud, is a very successful businessman. Only in the world of the MAGA idiots.

Bankruptcy is part of many successful businesses. Why haven’t his alleged creditors take him to court? What’s the holdup?

By all means, if E Carroll can win a case that she remembered NOTHING about 30+ years ago that was outside the statute of limitations those creditors should have a slam dunk case.

His net worth is billions. He the president and you’re neither.

How many coins did did your buddy have to cash in from the pool box to buy ALL THAT REAL ESTATE .LMAO

Other than by checking their accounts how on earth could anybody know whether a bar , or any other business is making money or not , I doubt a casual chat with the owner (or his wife) would reveal the truth
