Pheu Thai threatens to take legal action against Channel One

Pheu Thai Party has threatened to sue Channel One TV station and its management if they do not stop using a logo for a soap opera series which it said is similar to the party’s logo.

 

The series, entitled “La” (Hunt), features a criminal and an influential figure who is an executive of a party, named Thamnamthai whose party’s logo is similar to that of the Pheu Thai party.

 

Mr Anusorn Iamsa-ard, the party’s deputy spokesman said Thursday (Jan 25) that he questioned the motive of Channel One management and the production team for choosing a logo which looks like that of Pheu Thai party despite the fact that there are so many fonts and colours available.

When reality meets fiction 

Copy watch, copy hand bag, copy dress and now copy logo.  It will be interesting to see what the judges think. 

 

A bit sensitive - perhaps a bit to close to their reality?

 

But protecting "the party's honor" - good one!

This series is all about a mother and daughter that get gang raped by 7 men who have an influential (political) boss who sorts things out for them and gets them out of jail when they get found guilty. It’s about the mother’s revenge and includes police corruption at high levels, shows what goes on inside the prison and how things are worked out and privileges given, it shows how, if you have money and/or good connections here that you can get away with literally anything. It’s a pretty damning series to the whole lot of people really and i’m Surprised that it’s only the peu Thai party that are complaining about it.

My wife's been watching it.

 

AFAICT, the teenage daughter ends up in a psych hospital type place. And the mother then sets about going after and killing the attackers, slowly, one by one, in various interesting ways. I assume the name of the series, translated as "Hunt" stems from the hunt by the mother for the various attackers.
