Bangkok Entertainment Corp, the operator of TV Channel 3, and nine members of the management and staff have been sued by Aqua Corporation for allegedly implying that the plaintiff has connection with the proprietor of Victoria Secret massage parlour.

The Civil Court on Wednesday (Jan 31) accepted for consideration a defamation lawsuit filed by Aqua Corporation, its management and TV hosts of the “Ruanglao Chaonee” talk show programme.

In the lawsuit, the plaintiff alleged that, during the programme’s “Chuvit Mee Ruang Lao” talk show, the TV hosts, including media firebrand Chuvit Kamolvisit, presented a diagram showing the transfer of shares of Mr Kamphol Veerathepsuporn, the proprietor of Victoria Secret, implying that there was connection between the massage parlour business and that of Aqua Corp.

The plaintiff has demanded 333 million baht in compensation for alleged wrongful acts from the 10 defendants.  The court scheduled the first hearing on April 22.

In the other lawsuit, Aqua Corp accused the TV hosts of making remarks which are deemed as damaging its reputation. The court set the schedule of the first hearing on May 28.
