National Police Chief is furious! Despite two warnings officers still have long hair and messy uniforms

Daily News reported that "Big Peh" - the nickname for Jakthip Chaijinda the national Thai police chief - is not a happy camper.

Despite telling his men in two directives last year to smarten up their appearance they are still ignoring him.

The news media said that Jakthip has now given long haired and messy officers 15 days until February 15th or they will face sanctions.

Warnings were issued last year on November 15th and a month later on December 14th.

The latest directives have gone out to all station chiefs.

Some chiefs followed suit - Pattaya station chief Apichai Krobpetch, for example, was pictured with officers under his command having their hair cut after he ordered a mass shearing at the station.

The word "peh" refers to a Chinese uncle.

I don't think it would apply to the local undercover drugs squad, They wouldn't want their dreadlocks shorn!

I agree how dare they. However, what about the total incompetence and unprofessional standards. They are OK I presume.

Yes, like the boys in brown don't have bigger problems. Must take care of appearances. Very similar to the education system. As log as the front fence has a coat of paint it doesn't really matter what happens behind that fence.

100,000 Baht fine and a year in jail would fit the crime and keep it in line .

comparable to complaining about the lawn being messy while in the background the house is burning down

These top officials only have power when the people they're commanding are in the vicinity. When they're not, the people being told what to do don't care because there are very few, if any, repercussions.

They're just toothless and simply not in any way qualified to be in their positions. They bark orders to top up their ego and have deluded themselves into thinking they know what they're doing and that people really respect them.

Yes....but considering where the haircut order originally came from, the houses can burn

When I was a narc, I wore wigs, dressed as a ladyboy, dressed as a dominatrix and didn't shower for days to stink.

But, I digress. The local BIBS wouldn't know what I am talking about.  Overpaid scouts!

Great analogy, well said.

A smart looking policeman is a good policeman?
