BANGKOK, 2 February 2018 (NNT) - The Prime Minister has tasked the national water resources management office with realizing the nation's water management policy.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha chaired the office's first committee meeting. The premier previously ordered the office to recruit officials from the irrigation and water resources departments. Its objective is to improve on the country's water resources management plan to coincide with the 20-year national strategy.

Gen Prayut called for the integration of water management policies between ministries and for short- to long-term management planning. He also called for reports to be made on water management and budget allocation for large projects.

"The Prime Minister has tasked the national water resources management office with realizing the nation's water management policy"

Fair do's.Only a veritable genius could come up with a phrase like this.

Is there any department his tentacles don't extend too....guess he is the omni-directional touchstone for all subjects....haha...blimey

He is laying the foundations to increase the cost of household water. Might stop people from watering the street? They would be stuffed if they were in an area like South Africa and not the tropics.

Is this to say that the national water resources management office until today didn't know it was their task to manage the nation's water policies? Indeed they had to be tasked.

Will Prayut follow up by telling the Finance Minister to manage finance policies?

Or the Commerce Minister to manage commerce policies?

Etc.?

Three and a half years in power and Prayut's government officials don't know the duties of their offices.

Looks far too clean.   Not sure how much actual digging and retention pond wall mortaring will be generated from discussions in such a sterile room, full of well dressed people.

No doubt a new committee will be formed to investiage what they are supposed to do.
