A cash box with Bt1.5 million inside was found unattended outside a Kasikorn Bank ATM machine in Bangkok’s Huay Kwang district on Friday morning.

The box was found by Somchai Butrsakhon, 55, in front of an ATM machine at the mouth of Soi Pracharaj Bampen 6.

Somchai contacted the JS100 traffic radio station that informed the Huay Kwang police station.

A Kasikorn Bank official rushed to check the box at the station and confirmed it belonged to his bank and that it contained Bt1,000 banknotes worth Bt1.5 million.

How are 1,000 banknotes worth B1.5m?  I thought the highest denomination note was B1,000!

Is it an insurance scam gone wrong at the last minute?

If you read the line again it was 1,000 Baht bank notes worth 1,5 M Baht, so the box contained 1,500 Bank notes.

I disagree if you read the headline again you will find the box was only worth 1.5 baht!

Written correctly, it should be "Bt1,000-banknotes worth Bt1.5 million". It is one one of those cases where a hyphen makes a difference.

In Danish we would say that "someone got red ears", but seem like that expression is not valid in English language, but someone may still get red ears, when realizing that someone forgot the ATM-container with 1.5m baht next to the machine...:whistling:

We would say "someone got an earful" very much the same thing.
