The foreigner who caused a buzz at Emquartier shopping mall last week, when Thai people mistook him for Johnny Depp and lined up for autographs, said he never claimed to be the Hollywood star nor did he sign “Depp” on the fans’ merchandise.

In an exclusive interview with Coconuts, the mysterious man, now identified as Australian-born photographer Vivian Grey, recalled the dramatic scene when he was inside the Louis Vuitton shop at the mall last Friday, when suddenly, he saw flashes from cameras everywhere.

Grey doesn’t live in Bangkok, but visits frequently for work and loves Thai culture.

Depends on how quickly he can score. Im pretty sure Keefs would be stipulated in the bands rider.???

I guess to an Asian us honkeys must look pretty much the same.

If he looks like Johnny Depp then I  look like Clint Eastwood.....or at least I used to when I was thatched.

So when he said g'day didn't they think twice about the aussie accent

I was mistaken for Paul Mcartney and my blonde wife for Linda, we were attending a Jose Feliciano concert in Tokyo in 1974, we were mobbed and lucky to escape for our lives. Seriously.

Depp tends to avoid Captain Jack's eye liner when not pirating.

if he is Australian shouldn't his name be 'Sheila'?

I look like an extra from Hills Have Eyes. No one wants my autograph. [emoji21]

Jack Sparrow rules!

You've got to be blind to think that's Johnny Depp.
