Trat people have no answers for Prayut

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha received no answer from a group of Trat people on Monday when he asked them whether they had decided who they would vote for in the election. He was meeting the locals during a trip around the province before a mobile cabinet meeting there on Tuesday.

The PM turned the brief silence into a joke, saying they were keeping quiet because they were waiting to take photos with him.

He then warned them that he had no idea what would happen next if Thais chose a “bad person” to lead the country. He also insisted that he had not entered the office of prime minister for political purposes.

Prayut met the group during his visit to Ban Pred Nai, which is a model village of mangrove management.

Prayut told them that the country was in trouble today because people still did not respect the rule of law. He said he has never interfered with the justice system and never could.

He also urged them not to allow anyone to draw them into conflict. The country was not yet peaceful and if it was not peaceful in the future, “everything will still be in a mess”, the premier said.

Wow... ---- silence--- threat... cold shower!

He also urged them not to allow anyone to draw them into conflict.

Guess we now know why Thailand is being militarized.

From his response to their silence it is obvious he is using fear as a motivational weapon to garner support for his indefinite rule

The silence was a very loud answer to his question.

I am not quite sure what answer he was expecting, given there are no dates, no political parties allowed to do anything, or any nominated candidates. Apart from maybe him of course.

Perhaps they were aware of the Junta rule banning talk of politics in groups of 5 or more people.

.....turning it into a prolonged silence.

He says more than he realises here. Just one example of his native witlessness: he says that 'the country is not yet peaceful' - but this is after nearly 4 years of military rule! What great success!  And he proclaims it here from the rooftops. And then he caps it all by saying that if the country is not peaceful in the future, 'everything will still be in  a mess.' Did you catch that? STILL be! That means the country, now, at this moment, IS IN A MESS!

The strange (but not surprising thing) about idiots is they genuinely do not realise that they are idiots!

and they won't in my lifetime; surprised he didn't drop the national security card again;

this guy really has to go;

'every single thing quoted in this article made me shake my head; this is Not the guy we want to stay on

"Prayut told them that the country was in trouble today because people still did not respect the rule of law. He said he has never interfered with the justice system and never could. "

A coup is tantamount to treason, and a gross disrespect for the rule of law. Also, giving yourself complete amnesty is complete interference with the justice system.

Does Prayut ever listen to what he says?

A trick question followed by threats then harping on laws he himself tried to get others to break by asking a frivolous question.  How surprising coming from a military strongman.  He does not give the average Thai much credit.   But they showed him.

What election?

Who are the choices?

Clueless.

Definition : Bad person=anyone other Prayut. Is this guy for real?

Not the sharpest tool in the box is he

???hmm.......

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
No one dare
Disturb the sound of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the PM god they made...

A post against forum rules has been removed.

'He then warned them that he had no idea what would happen next if Thais chose a “bad person” ...' As opposed to one taking power. Never know, they might get a pleasant surprise.

'He also insisted that he had not entered the office of prime minister for political purposes.' So he's not a politician, then? He really needs to make up his mind.

Prayut set the standards for the rule of law by his own actions:

Prayut acts with impunity and without accountability as PM. Why would Thai people embrace his leadership? Prayut seems to believe in his infallibility and superiority but denigrates the Thai people to an inferior class. He deserves much more than silence.

"He then warned them that he had no idea what would happen next if Thais chose a “bad person” to lead the country. He also insisted that he had not entered the office of prime minister for political purposes."

...say what???

This is so....I am actually lost for words!
