Bodybuilder condemns Israeli’s hotel door prank

Featured Replies

A Thai bodybuilder has criticised a group of Israeli tourists after they allegedly banged repeatedly on his hotel room door near Bangkok's Pratunam Market, waking and frightening him and his wife.

Prakasit Kruabut said the disturbance happened while the couple were asleep. In a Facebook post shared on August 9, he said four loud impacts struck their door, followed by laughter and other noise from outside the room.

He posted a photograph featuring an Israeli flag in the background and urged visitors to Thailand to behave appropriately.

Hotel staff check cameras

Prakasit said he contacted the hotel reception and asked staff to review security camera footage after the couple initially feared there might be an emergency.

According to his account, hotel employees confirmed that a group of Israeli tourists had knocked on the door as a prank before running away.

In a subsequent video, Prakasit addressed Israeli visitors directly.

"This is a message for Israeli tourists in Thailand. Everyone is happy that you come to travel and bring money to Thailand but please also bring your brain and manners," he said.

He said the group later left the hotel to enjoy Bangkok nightlife. Hotel staff then reportedly locked their room, meaning they had to contact reception and apologise to Prakasit and his wife before they could regain access.

Apology before checkout

Prakasit said one member of the group later came to his room and apologised to the couple before the tourists checked out.

However, he said he did not believe the apology was sincere, suggesting it was mainly made so the group could get back into their room and continue their stay.

The bodybuilder said he did not want to judge all Israeli tourists on the actions of one group. He added that followers had contacted him with accounts of their own negative experiences involving Israeli visitors, while stressing that there were both good and bad people among them.

Several social media users called on Prakasit and his wife to pursue legal action, arguing that it could deter similar conduct by foreign tourists. No legal complaint or police action was reported in Prakasit's account.

Many young people come to Thailand in a gap year or with a group of friends. That age demographic is pretty rowdy and uncivilised, particularly when alcohol is involved.

In the case of young Israelis, each and every one of them has spent two years in the military, sometimes in harsh conditions and perhaps doing terrible things that disregarded the humanity of others.

Many are feral, just let out of a cage. But the majority, esp when not in a group of support, have manners, are normal.

A meaningless generalisation with no foundation in facts!

Oh the outrage.

Wonder how many children were killed on the Thai roads today

by Thai drivers and riders ? 4 maybe 6, but no outrage heard, ever.

But some just love there 7.40 minutes, of fame on social media.

It's called mass tourisum, Jog on Thailand.

One more massive.

Nothing to do with Israel, Israelis, Jews, or the war there.

Everything to do with a specific group of A-hole tourists.
The Thai target of their idiocy seems to get that.

A notorious obsessive here doesn't. Feral indeed.

Yep, the worst thing about Thailand is some of the foreigners.

May have just accidently knocked on the wrong door, thinking it was their friends room ?

So why did they say staff checked CCTV and "hotel employees confirmed that a group of Israeli tourists had knocked on the door as a prank before running away."

Just Nick in blind Israeli defence mode, as per usual.

Nope. Too pretty for a 'bodybuilder.' 'Influencer' maybe.

Revoke the troublemaker Israelis' travel visas.

Now Joe, I did say it may , MAY have been accidently knocking on the wrong door , so that must mean it MAY not have .

Don't think CCTV would be able to tell whether it was a deliberate prank or just an accident .

BTW, could we just concentrate on what happened .

Their nationality is irrelevant in this story .

You always seem to concentrate on their skin colour or where they come from .

So, this may , MAY have been an accidental wrong knock on the wrong door or it MAY not have .

Follow Malaysia's example, ban all Israelis.

Thailand's outrage culture is growing.

When outraged, go straight to social media and cry.

Are they turning into a bunch of.

I know it's not relevant and I apologise beforehand, but Christ! ...... plastic surgery much!!!!

There, I'm done. Continue on with the relevant details. Apologies again. :)

Looking at the video, I want to know if this is yet another fashion innovation I've missed out on: wearing your tie outside your collar.

When outraged, go straight to social media and cry.

I've noticed this as well, the tiniest, smallest most insignificance annoyance gets plastered on TikTok, Youtube and Facebook. Not so long ago, this kind of incident would have been written off as a minor annoyance, now it's an international incident. Like those Italian kids on the tube or that escort getting creamed on in the plane.

Can you provide a link that says she was an escort? And what difference would that make anyway?

You really do have a disgusting outlook on women. It comes through in nearly every thread.

'Kay, then. I'll bite. Are you denying every Israeli at age 20 or so has not just been released from the IDF?

Or are you disagreeing that I find most Israelis, including the young ones, agreeable (at least in Thailand where there's no war fever)?

The paragraphs before and after your comments about the IDF were meaningless generalisations.

I make no comment wrt Isreal!
