PATTAYA:--A teenager low on cash was arrested for burglarizing an acquaintance’s apartment to steal her mobile phone.

Patomlit Fakthong, 18, was taken into custody Jan. 27 after being apprehended by neighbors of 18-year-old Laksika Pankaen.

The suspect allegedly broke into Laksika’s Soi Buakhao 18 room and took her Samsung smartphone off a table. The woman woke up to find Patomlit still in the apartment and screamed for help.

He was tackled after fleeing the room.

Patomlit, described by the victim as a friend of a friend, told police he had been around to see the woman earlier and saw the phone on the table. So he came back later and broke in to steal it, as he was low on cash and thought he could sell it.
