60-day Tourist Visa Converting To 30-day Voa

Featured Replies

I have been in thailand many months with the 30 day VOA and then received my 60-day tourist visa in Penang in December 2006 and then extended it at Phuket immigration. Now that it is coming to expiration, can I now go back to the 30-day VOA and then renew it twice afterwards allowing me 90 days in country? I know I will then have to leave for 90 days to return on a new VOA series.

Help!

Thanks!

You should have received a 60 day stay until February and at that time you extend at immigration office for 30 days (1,900 baht) to complete the full 90 days allowed for a tourist visa. After that you would do visa free entry again if you do not want to use a tourist visa.

Lopburi3 is correct.

After your tourist visa's extension is up, you can do 3 X monthly visa runs to wherever and get your free 30 day visa exempt stamps, after your 90 days is up (usually 3rd stamp) its time for another tourist visa. Repeat process.
