Thai court approves extradition of Australian drug suspect

By The Nation

The Criminal Court on Monday ordered that an Australian drug suspect be extradited to his homeland once it’s determined whether he’s also guilty of passport forgery.

Robert Gordon Polly Bank Gee, 54, will be sent back to Australia as requested by authorities there, the court ruled, since local charges against him were unrelated to politics or the military.

Gee must be sent back within 90 days of the passport case being concluded.

Gee was arrested in Phuket in September 2016 at the request of Australian police, who believe he is involved in drug trafficking.

He was convicted of using a fake passport to enter Thailand, but is appealing the decision.
