Thailand’s some industries likely to grow impressively alongside EEC

BANGKOK, 16th February 2018 (NNT) – A leading high-street research agency has predicted a bright future for three industries after the new Eastern Economic Corridor bill was passed.

Siam Commercial Bank’s Economic Intelligence Center or EIC believes that the government’s EEC project will most likely attract more foreign direct investment to Thailand.

The comment was made after the National Legislative Assembly endorsed the EEC.

The center expects the aviation and logistics industry, the robotics industry and the digital industry to play a more important role after the EEC bill is put into effect as they will be the ones to support the growth of other sectors.

It elaborated that development of U-Tapao Airport is expected to be able to accommodate up to 60 million passengers within the next 14 years while the air transport business in Asia is expected to expand 60 percent.

This will also lead to the development of adjacent towns and eventually the setting up of an Airport City, the EIC commented.

Meanwhile, all digitally-related businesses are projected to expand impressively and the total spending on digital technology is projected to rise to 135 billion baht in 2020 from 73 billion baht in 2015.

"Thailand’s some industries likely to grow impressively alongside EEC"

Arai-wa? :shock1:

60 million pax? In U-tapao? 555 Who dreams up these numbers?

They forgot to mention two major players: drugs and weapon dealers.

Robotics is miles behind the Western world so yes it will grow...so will e-shopping i bet...I used lazada this week and it worked great but there's no competition yet for them and they are still slow, in Europe they bring it the next day and even tell the time in advance.

But thailand is an agriculture country, it's time they use big machines on the fields and become a worldplayer.

That headline isn't the best English..................in fact what does it mean 'Thailand's some industries............maybe  'Some industries in Thailand......................'
