webfact
PCD: Chinese New Year activities contribute to dropping air quality in Bangkok By Thai PBS Air quality in Bangkok dropped further on Friday morning (Feb 16) with PM2.5 fine particulate matter measured at between 52-62 microgrames per cubic metre, exceeding the limit of 50 microgrammes/ cu m. Burning of joss paper and incense sticks during the Chinese New Year today partly caused the PM2.5 level in the capital to rise, according to the Pullution Control Department (PCD). PCD director-general Sunee Piyapanpong said PM2.5 level measured at 8 am at six air quality monitoring stations on Rama IV road, Intharapithak road, Lat Phrao road, Phaya Thai road, Bang Na and Wang Thong Lang districts exceeded the standard 50 microgramme per cu m. On Wednesday it peaked at 186 and was 160+ for most of the day. Only slightly less yesterday, but today (when it didn't look quite so horrific) the media put a figure on it. In fact todays measure shows a minimum of 74, a peak of 178 and as of writing 134: Bangkok Air Pollution: Real-time PM2.5 Air Quality Index ... - Beijing AQI And one more time for the unmentioned carcinogenic threat of 2.5: Particulates - Wikipedia "In 2013, a study involving 312,944 people in nine European countries revealed that there was no safe level of particulates and that for every increase of 10 μg/m3 in PM10, the lung cancer rate rose 22%. The smaller PM2.5 were particularly deadly, with a 36% increase in lung cancer per 10 μg/m3 as it can penetrate deeper into the lungs." I am surprised the BMA hasn't bought a bunch of blower fans and pointed them skyward similar to what they do with the boats during floods or at least instructed the populace to point all their fans skyward. Media1
Stop blaming others. The people who did this are the government. Failed to complete full.law.and.police reforms. Also further destroyed the nation by importing Chinese to voyage in unroadworthy vehicles. As one says, You are not fit to lead.
