Under Armour Thailand, a leader in the innovation of high-performance sportswear apparel, will continue its expansion in 2018, by increasing its numbers of stores, tapping into the lucrative footwear market, and creating more platforms for sports enthusiasts.

UA Thailand currently has 15 stores in Bangkok, Phuket, Hua Hin and Pattaya, but is set to open more in strategic locations throughout Thailand, especially upcountry, over the next three years to capitalize on the growing trend for sports and fitness.

“2017 was a great year for UA in Thailand,” said Prisana Sirisamatha, General Manager of UA Sports Thailand. “Not only did we increase our number of stores, but we also strengthened our reputation as the premier provider of high-performance sportswear and core apparel products. We plan to build upon all we have done so far to make 2018 even more successful.”

Events and sports platforms remain integral to UA’s business plan for 2018. Key campaigns for the year include sponsorship of the LPGA Thailand 2018 golf event in February; the Under Armour 3x3 U18 Basketball Project in March; the popular annual urban fitness challenge, Test of Will 2018 in April; and marathon Races. Monthly UA Run Crew clinics, along will exclusive workout classes with UA gym partners, will also take place throughout the year.

LPGA Thailand 2018 is a women’s international golf competition that reflects UA Thailand’s commitment to celebrate strong, unstoppable women who defy expectations to achieve their dreams. UA’s product category for women has been built on a foundation of innovative products and inspiring storytelling that champions women’s athletic performance.

Under Armour Brand Athlete and American professional golfer Alison Lee joined the LPGA Thailand 2018 competition. During the tournament, Alison met Thai fans and joined the UA Test of Will activity booth. She shared her insights into golf and provided some tips on how to play better on the course.

UA’s busy calendar of events, and growing number of brand ambassadors, showcase just how important group activities and sports role models are to UA’s core mission of fostering community through fitness, and emphasising how important training is in improving sports performance.

UA Thailand has enjoyed significant success since the opening of its Under Armour Brand House, located on the second floor of CentralFestival Pattaya Beach, in October 2016. The American apparel brand is set to open another outlet in Pattaya on April 10, 2018, allowing even more holidaymakers and residents to try UA’s wide-ranging line of products, whilst enjoying Pattaya’s diverse range of sports.

UA’s Brand House in Pattaya offers a vast range of sporting apparel featuring key UA technology for both men and women. The brand recently launches its latest innovations in footwear cushioning technology HOVR, UA’s third cushioning platform, in addition to Micro G and Charged Cushioning, and features in two revolutionary new running shoes: HOVR Phantom and HOVR Sonic. The goal for both shoes is to create the most explosive cushioning in the industry to run longer, jump higher, and cut harder.

Each eye-catching style has been engineered to provide the ideal combination of cushioning and energy return, without compromise, but with some key differences in shoe design and construction. While the HOVR Phantom is geared more towards the casual runner, with a focus on comfort and lifestyle, the HOVR Sonic has been designed for speed and distance and is for the athlete and serious runner. The HOVR Phantom also sports a trendy mid-top design, with a high cut cuff and external heel counter for increased stability, while the HOVR Sonic has a classic low top design, with a threadbone flat knit upper that provides a breathable, compression-like fit to deliver lightweight directional strength and unmatched comfort.

UA’s pinnacle cushioning system has been made from proprietary foam compound in partnership with leading innovators Dow Chemical to create a shoe that offers true support, energy return and shock absorption.

Another key component of HOVR technology is the ‘Energy Web,’ which is a comprehensive mesh web that contains the cushioning core, helping to maintain the midsole’s shape and, in return, delivers strong responsiveness and energy return. This combination of advantages makes the wearer feel better and perform better – with HOVR, the shoe is absorbing some of the impact the body would normally feel, aiding in comfort and keeping legs fresh for the road ahead.

UA also launches the UA Spieth 2, which has been designed with direct insights from three-time major champion, Jordan Spieth. This revision of Spieth’s original signature shoe, launched in 2017, comes with GORE-TEX® construction for 100% waterproof construction, softer leather and a smart-woven upper.
