Redshirt leader Jatuporn Phromphan and 17 other core leaders and activists stood trial in the Bangkok Military Court on Wednesday morning for defying the order of the National Council for Peace and Order in 2016.

Apart from Jatuporn, the leader of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) who was chained on his leg and escorted by soldiers from the Bangkok Remand Prison where he is serving jail sentence, others seen standing trial included Nattawut Saikur, Mrs Thida Thavornset, Weng Tochirakarn, Yongyut Tiyaphairat, Korkaew Pikulthong, and Virakarn Musikapong.

They were charged by the military for holding political assembly of more than five people after they held a press conference at Imperial Department Store in June 2016 to announce the formation of the Centre for the Suppression of Referendum Fraud.

At least he and a few students have the courage to stand up to the bullies.

wrong, the students had the courage, jutaporn is and was a huge coward that ran away from confrontation, the man has always pushed others to do all the dirty work while he hid behind them, he should have been jailed years ago but the ptp protected him because he is thaksins pet lap dog. Maybe you forgot the pics of him climbing out the window to get away during the shutdown he was leading, bloody great coward and always will be

Referendum was not faulty, just rigged to favor one side.

Laughable though that Red Shirt never elected leaders want to form a center against corruption!

Wasn't that Arisman Pongruangrong who climbed out of the window? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/thailand/7596362/Thai-Red-Shirt-leader-in-dramatic-hotel-escape.html

Whatever one thinks of the Red Shirts, isn't it a sick joke that these Red Shirts here are charged with having a political assembly of more than five people - when Prayut is going up and down the country on a weekly basis, talking constantly about politics, even basically telling the crowds (many more than five persons) how they should think and (basically) whom they should vote for?!

Hummm.  Rhetorical question: Does anyone in the upper-crust of Thailand have a grasp of the historical significance of martyrdom and the ramifications of making martyrs?
