Four researchers commissioned to produce gas masks for military use have lodged a complaint against two army officers, accusing them of extortion and making false statement to the police.

The four researchers, Associate Professor Veerachai Putthawong and three assistant professors, Sunthorn Sitthisakulcharoen, Kittipat Rattanachan and Watchara Lailak claimed that they were employed at a cost of 3.8 million baht to develop a gas mask for military use for the Research and Development Office of the Army under a project of the army to produce gas masks worth about 150 million baht.

The four researchers have come up with their prototype gas mask which they claimed has been certified by an internationally-recognised institute in Czech Republic.

Fisrt why was Thailand wasting money developing gas masks?

Many excellent gas masks already widely available.

Oops silly me, farang gas masks not suitable for Thais, Thailand has different needs to the rest of the World.

Army officers being involved with extortion !! Shocking, but then again they are only trying to do the same as their former bosses.

Like no other country's armed forces already have gas mask of military quality available, Thailand has to develop its own!!

Thailand needs a special model for small noses....

Does anything ever happen in Thailand that doesn't involve a scam?? ANYTHING...ANYTHING....rice, school milk, lumyai  lottery and on and on and ond on.....???

It's not unique to Thailand. When money laundering is factored in the UK comes in the top ten in the world corruption league.

Other countries mask are only good for chemical warfare. Thailand is developing it's own masks to protect from the BS fumes that are everywhere here :)

Ah yes, made my day, it would be great if we ever find out the truth of this matter.
