IsaanFam
Hi, I am going to Vientiane in couple of days to do exactly the same and I have prepared already the following: - 2 signed copies of: ID card of my son + the mother - 2 signed copies of: passport of my son + the mother - 2 signed copies of: blue book with name of my son + mother - 2 signed copies of: birth certificate of my son - my passport + 2 copies of it - 4 passport pictures of me - the legalization documents showing me as the "registered" father* - printed some pictures of us around and in the house* - 400,000 in a bank account in my name* And I will bring my wife (not married) + my son with all the originals along. * I guess these are only required for applying for the 1 year extension. jimmjam
Thanks isaanfam, my son is only 2, so don't have an id card for him, but I think that will be ok. I will take a lot of duplicate copies of things just in case.

This is what is required other than your passport photo page copy and application form with 2 photos attached. You will be applying for a single entry non visa based upon being the parent of a Thai. You will need their birth certificate plus a copy and a copy of their house book registry. The fee is 2000 baht.
